Craig was born to Harold and Leatrice Sorenson on Feb. 29, 1948, in Carroll. He graduated from Paton-Churdan in 1966. After graduation he went to Universal Trade School in Omaha for nine months, then returned to Jefferson and worked as an apprentice for Finch Chevrolet Oldsmobile Cadillac, working as the service manager for 12 years. Then he and his brother Al bought Hoyle Oil and started Sorenson Service Station in Churdan, which was in operation for 25 years. He then worked at Napa for a short time before retiring.
On June 5, 1966, he married Janis Lautner. They are the parents of Douglas and Suzanne. Craig and Doug enjoyed restoring Oliver tractors and competitive tractor pulling. He also took his wife on many tractor rides down to the river. He cherished time with his grandchildren. It pleased him to be a member of the worship team where he continued to strengthen his relationship with Christ. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and wit.
